Starlight cheerleaders in action
MEMBERS of a Downend cheerleading squad signed off their 15th year with a clutch of trophies.
Bristol Starlight, founded by mother and daughter Deb and Ally Denny, has competition squads at under-9, U12 and U16 age groups, as well as seniors and masters.
The first competition of the season in late November at Hartpury Sports College saw the squads, with 47 dancers aged from six to 40, win four first places, one second place, the overall pom dance category and the Spirit Award for the team that best embodies the concepts of energy, enthusiasm, sportsmanship and support for other teams.
Head coach Deb said: “It was a fantastic way to end our 15th year as a pom dance club.”
