A COURSE to teach people the basics of bowls will be held in Page Park from April.
The popular annual course is run by Page Park Bowls Club, with five qualified Bowls England coaches, and is open to anyone aged 12 and above.
It will be held on seven consecutive Saturdays from April 25, from 10am to noon, with an initial £5 registration fee, plus £5 per session charge to cover costs.
All equipment will be provided except for flat soled shoes, which participants need to bring as heels or ribbed soles aren’t suitable for the green.

People taking the course don’t have to join Page Park Bowls Club but it is a condition of club rules that anyone who does join must have completed the course.
Don said: “We anticipate that this year’s course will again be oversubscribed, so applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We are again widening our catchment for the course to encourage new players who would prefer to play for other local clubs, whose membership is smaller than our own.”
