SOUTH Gloucestershire Council is consulting on plans to change the location of a proposed speed table to slow traffic on North Street in Downend.
The speed table – a lengthened section of raised surface designed to slow traffic in the 20mph zone, was originally proposed for a site next to the south end of Downend Cricket Club’s WG Grace Memorial Ground.
But the council says the original proposals, which were consulted on in 2022, are no longer seen as feasible; instead it wants to place the speed table by the north end of the ground, near the junctions with Salisbury Road and Carpenter’s Shop Lane.
