Owls are flying high

DOWNEND Flyers’ Under-13 teams are making their mark in the Bristol Girls League and County Cup.

Our U13 Kites are enjoying an unbeaten start in the highly competitive Division A of the Bristol Girls League, and are also mid-table.

The Kites recently produced an outstanding performance in the County Cup against local rivals BOCO, securing a convincing 5–0 victory to book their place in the next round.

It’s a fantastic result for the team and a great reward for all their hard work.

Our U13 Owls are also unbeaten, and sitting second in Division B of the Bristol Girls League as the Voice went to print.

They carried their excellent league form into the County Cup, putting in an incredible performance to defeat Longwell Green Pumas 8–1 and secure their place in the next round.

Our U13 Nightingales have made a brilliant start to the season in Division C of the Bristol Girls League, currently sitting comfortably in mid-table.

Under new management, the team has benefited from an incredible amount of time, effort and commitment from its coaches, who are working hard to help the girls develop, grow in confidence.

Their progress is a credit to everyone involved.

Across all three teams, it’s fantastic to see the girls enjoying their football.

We believe success is about more than results, and are creating an environment where the girls fall in love with the game.

We’re delighted to support the opening of the new Pomphrey Hill hatch and community café, which will give our players and spectators the chance to enjoy warm food and drinks on match days.
