BROMLEY Heath’s summer community festival Heathfest will return this summer, after six years away.
The summer event in Bromley Heath Park attracted 4,000 people the last time it was staged in July 2019, raising £2,500 for local charities.
But it had to be cancelled because of covid restrictions for the following two years, and a loss of volunteer committee members meant there was not enough support to run it for the last three.
This year, however, the festival is being brought back, on Saturday July 12 from 11.30am-7pm in the park off Queensholm Crescent.
Festival committee chair Carolyn Pimm said: “The committee are hard at work planning a fabulous day out of food, drink and music to entertain the local community.
“There is something for everyone of all ages!
“There will be a variety of tasty food and drink stalls, plus local live music acts performing throughout the day.
“In addition, children’s entertainment and fantastic gift and merchandise stalls will also be on offer.
“Profits – as in previous years – will go to local charities which will be chosen by you, our local community. Keep a close eye on our social media pages for updates on this.”
Entry to the festival will be £2 per adult, £1 for under-18s or £5 for a family of four, payable on the day only.
Organisers are calling on people to come forward and help make the event a huge success in a variety of ways, from volunteering to help out on the day to donating a raffle prize or helping to advertise the event.
They also welcome nominations for local charities to receive donations.
