PARENTS, children, staff and parishioners got together for a day of volunteer work to spruce up a Downend primary school.
They spent a Saturday at St Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Primary School at the end of June clearing the grounds, painting fences, weeding and tidying to make the school spotless for the children.
Head teacher Mark Hilliam said: “This annual day is another example of how our wonderful community of parents, staff, children and parishioners volunteer their time to improve the school grounds.
“They work so hard every year and the results are always fantastic! I am so grateful to all who came along to support us on the day.”
