A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital with potentially “life-changing” injuries after a collision with a vehicle in Downend.
An air ambulance landed on Downend Cricket Club’s ground during the emergency response to the incident, which happened at about 1.15pm on November 18 at the junction of Westerleigh Road, Badminton Road and Downend Road, between the Sainsbury’s Local store and the Horseshoe pub.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said the injured man was taken to Southmead Hospital by road, as a land ambulance and hazardous area response vehicle had also attended the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “One person was taken to hospital for injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening but may be life-changing.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
