A VOLUNTEER with the Royal Naval Association and the Royal British Legion has received a personal letter of thanks for his service from Defence Secretary John Healey.
Norman Low, who is 90, continues to play a role at community events, including laying crosses on Commonwealth war graves at Christ Church Downend ahead of Remembrance Day, among other voluntary work.
The letter was arranged by Filton & Bradley Stoke MP Claire Hazelgrove, who said: “It was an honour to request this recognition for Norman Low. His service to our country and his ongoing commitment to the Royal British Legion and Royal Naval Association truly deserve to be acknowledged. Veterans like Norman remind us of the importance of service, remembrance and community spirit.”
RBL branch chair Ian Campbell said: “Norman is a hugely respected member of our branch and a true example of dedication and service.
