Head confirmed

DOWNEND School has confirmed that its interim head teacher has been appointed permanently to the role.

Rachael Corns had been the school’s deputy head before taking over temporarily last year after predecessor Linda Ferris took on a directorial role at the Castle School Education Trust.

CSET has now confirmed that the roles of Mrs Corns and senior deputy head Ben Hickman have been made permanent.

Mrs Corns has previously served as the school’s head of PE, a head of house and special educational needs coordinator, before becoming the deputy head.
