A FRENCHAY woman has raised more than £400 for a charity helping people through the cost of living crisis.
Maya Prowse-Hall is an advisor for Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire, which has launched an appeal to raise £30,000 to pay for renovating and equipping its new building in Yate, where it is moving so it can double the number of people it can help face-to-face each week.
The charity provides free, independent, impartial and confidential advice to anyone from South Gloucestershire who needs its help.
Maya was one of a team who ran in October’s Bath Half Marathon to help the appeal.
She was set a target of £200 but more than doubled it, having raised £425 as the Voice went to press.
Maya, 25, completed the run in an hour and 55 minutes.
She said: “I can confidently say that I felt incredibly uncomfortable the entire way. Normally I really enjoy most of a run – especially event runs – but Sunday was one of those days where I felt incapable.
“The atmosphere was incredible – it really does spur you on.
“I would do it again, but I would do more training!”
