YEAR 8 students at Mangotsfield School competed for the chance to win a £1,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
The school’s annual First Give final was held at the end of January, as part of a programme organised by the social action charity as part of personal, social, health and economic education lessons.
Pupils from each Year 8 group made a presentation to the whole year group, showing the charity’s impact and an action plan for the donation.
Head teacher Hetty Blackmore said: “It is always the highlight of my year, and this year the standard was extremely high!”
Class Pomphrey 8.2 won the £1,000 for mental health charity Changes Bristol after an “excellent solo presentation” from one of its students.
Pomphrey 8.1 was highly commended category for a “stunning” presentation for homelessness charity Caring in Bristol.
