DOWNEND’S latest post box topper is a harvest festival celebration.
The decoration outside the former post office in Downend Road was created by Tina Jefferies, Mary Townsend, Tanya Phillips, Ann Wilde, Karen Jukes, Caroline Smith and Suzzie Belcher of Downend Yarn Busters, a group of knitters who used to meet up at Fabrics Plus but now get together in each other’s homes to work on projects.
The display includes a basket with fruit, vegetables, a wheatsheaf and some harvest mice.
Members of the group all came up with ideas to fill the basket.
It is due to be replaced at the beginning of November by a new Remembrance tribute.
